自70年代初以来,NVR一直参与各种淋巴和非淋巴细胞在诱导对脾脏中不同类型抗原的“原位”免疫反应中的作用的研究,鉴于新的科学发展往往以新技术为先导,因此决定开发新技术,如果本研究项目的主要问题由于缺乏适当的方法而受到阻碍,则决定开发新的技术。
因此,发展了双放射性同位素放射自显影技术,用于同时检测组织切片中的各种淋巴细胞和抗原。
Since the early seventies, NvR has been involved in studies on the role of various lymphoid and non-lymphoid cells in the induction of 'in situ' immune reactions against different types of antigen in the spleen (see e.g. reviews: Van Rooijen, N. 1990. Antigen processing and presentation in vivo: The microenvironment as a crucial factor. Immunol. Today 11, 436-439 & Van Rooijen 1990. Direct intrafollicular differentiation of memory B-cells to plasma cells, Immunol. Today 11, 154-157).
Given the idea that new scientific developments are often preceded by new technology, it was decided to develop new techniques, if answering of the main questions in this research project was hindered by the absence of suitable methodology.
